Name: Don Lennon Date: July 20th, 1921 - March 15th, 2009 Obituary: Don “The Tire Man” Lennon, Sr., age 87 of 388 Brooks Road, Bostic, died Sunday, March 15, 2009 at his residence. A native of Catskills, NY, he was a son of the late Matthew Lennon and Marguerite Bartholomew Lennon. He was the owner and operator of Don’s Tire Service, worked as a news paper carrier for both The Daily Courier and Charlotte Observer, and was a US Army Veteran of World War II and also a US Air Force Veteran during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by a step-son, Jeffrey Galvin in 2000, and also two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Carole Snyder Lennon of the home; a son Donald Matthew Lennon, Jr. of Bostic; a step-daughter, Kimberly Campbell of Bostic; a sister-in-law, Lois Lennon of Daytona Beach, FL; and three grandchildren, Hope Campbell and Justin Campbell, of Bostic, and Daylan Bradley of Rutherfordton. A memorial service will be held at 6 pm Thursday, March 19, 2009 in the Cornerstone Fellowship Church with Rev. Mike Snelgrove officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 6 pm Thursday in the church sanctuary. Following the service, military rites will be accorded by the Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard.
